Clothes Rack Organization

Say hello to my pride & joy.

Organization. Say it with me, O-R-G-A-N-I-Z-A-T-I-O-N. Whew, that's a hard one. I'm not the best person to be giving organizational tips, but something about springtime puts me in a cleaning/organizational mood. Honestly, I have been trying my hardest this year to be more efficient about the way I display and store my clothes. In my opinion, everyone needs a clothes rack. Even if you have enough space in your closet! Some clothes are just too pretty to be hidden from the world. In my case, my clothes rack is required. I think my closet might have been made for a small animal. I don't know how I was ever supposed to fit all of my clothes into that tiny space. It will never happen.
Here are some of my tips on how to organize your current or future clothes rack!

1) Color Code: Trust me. It might sound a bit tedious at first, but it will pay off when you find yourself in a rush to get ready in the morning. That's every morning for me. This just makes it easier for me to browse through my options a bit faster. I can go straight to whatever color my mood is radiating that particular morning.

2) The Favorites: Don't try and jam pack your clothes rack. Too many clothes on your rack can feel overwhelming and cluttered. And clutter is never a good thing to show off. Plus, you want it too look neat since it will be showcasing your clothes. I like to put my favorite pieces on the rack. I also incorporate pieces that I wear often into the rack since they are my "go to" pieces on a daily basis. Everything I adore is right at my fingertips.

3) Accessorize: As you can see in my pictures I have my hat and scarves hung up on the rack as well. I think it's important to surround yourself with your favorite everyday wear, and that includes accessorizes such as these. Also, I think it adds a bit of character to the rack. Taking this step into consideration can really make the rack your own.

4) Shoes: Don't overcrowd your shoes on the bottom or else chaos will erupt. I speak from experience. When I first purchased this rack (Ikea), I tired to fit as many shoes as possible on the small rack below the clothes rack. Such a fail. Again, go back to your favorites and decided which shoes you want to show off. I personally like to keep my every day shoes on the bottom, along with my snazzy leopard print wedges because they happen to make me insanely happy.

5) Hangers: My OCD kinda of kicks in on this step. I have to have the same hangers throughout my rack or else it just throws everything off for me. I think having different hangers makes its seem less put together, if that makes sense. Now, in my closet I have every type of hanger possible. But since these clothes are out in my room, I like it stick to one color and type. These black felt hangers give it a uniform look which I love. Not too mention these hangers cling to everything. Which is fantastic. This eliminates my worry of having clothes slipping off, or halfway off which can lead to one big mess.

Favorite Fashion Bloggers.

1) Beauty Crush
Sammi

And such a beauty crush she is! Sammi is a Londoner with such an eclectic wardrobe. I religiously check her blog everyday. I mean look at that outfit! The lips, the incredible coat, the leopard print skirt...stellar. Whenever I want to pull out my hair because I can't decide what to wear for the day (I know... first world problems) I simply click through her posts, and eventually I'm bound to get inspired within minutes.

2) GabiFresh
Gabi

SO FRESH. Literally, this girl is so inspiring. She's constantly fighting against the expectation that you have to be skinny to make your mark in the fashion world. Can you say role model? Beauty radiates from her. She's famous for her curves, and I love how she loves to show her curves off every single day. To her, there is no such thing as hiding your body. Her body puts on a fantastic show every s-i-n-g-l-e day. And damn doesn't she look sensational? She takes risks that inspire women, no matter what their size, to also take risks with their clothing choices. If anything she's taught me that I don't need to be ashamed of my curves. I need to embraced them and most importantly acknowledge them. The fact that I do have curves means I need to compliment them with a palette of fun, thrilling pieces of clothing! AND, just because she's curvy doesn't mean she sticks to clothing meant for curvy girls. She's always rocking what ever the hell she wants to, and without fail it always works.

Emily Schuman

What I love about this blog is how she covers everything from phenomenal cooking recipes to DIY creations. She really is talented with a multitude of things. Whenever I'm feeling "bleh" in the creative department, without hesitation I click on this blog. Her blog offers endless posts that are dedicated to fashion, DIY, recipes, and opinion pieces. She's everyone's cup of tea. Also, this blog has one of my favorite weekly posts. It's become a tradition that every friday she posts her 5 favorite things of the week. Sometimes, I feel a bit obnoxious (sadly, like a five year old girl) as I impatiently wait for her Friday post to go up, but that's just how good it is! It's pure happiness.

 Leandra Medine

THIS GIRL. This freaking girl. I don't even know where to start. I could talk about her all day long. Fearless should be her middle name. She created this blog to showcase her eclectic style that consistently seemed to repel men. Hence the title of the blog, Man Repeller. Pure Genius. Her blog posts are sprinkled with her trademark witty, dry sense of humor, which makes me feel like maybe we could be best friends? I mean we can repel men together...right?
Also, her weekly critique/recap of HBO's girls is hands down the best on the internet. It's only a matter of time before her and Lena Dunham start dominating the streets of New York City hand in hand.

MEET SCARLETT.

These past two days have been filled fantastic music, amaretto sours, good beer, shopping, and quality best friend time. Sounds pretty good, eh? I couldn't have asked for a better getaway. I rarely get to see Scarlett since we attend different universities and when we do reunite, let the good times roll. We're probably two of the most fantastically weird people you'll ever encounter. And that's why she's my other half. I knew I wanted had to take pictures of her for my blog because I mean look at her! Her fashion sense is nothing short of perfection. Okay, let me go off on a tangent real fast. When it comes to shopping, Scarlett might just be the best shopping partner ever. We have the same shopping tactics. It's simple. We browse, we grab, we debate, then we buy. The hustle and bustle of trying things on doesn't exist during our shopping trips. Which I thoroughly enjoy! It's only been a couple of hours since I saw her, and I'm already having withdrawals. Unfortunately, I don't know when we'll be able visit with her again. Hopefully *fingers crossed* I'll see her for my 22nd birthday celebration. Which has yet to be planned. The next few months will be filled with seemingly endless skype/phone calls until our next reunion. And let me tell you, every reunion is better than the last one. We only get better with age.

Adele: Fashion Edition

Adele and I are destined to be best friends. It just hasn’t happened yet, but our time will come. ADELE...ADELE....A-FREAKING-DELE. Love is an understatement. How is it possible that at 24 years old (yes, TWENTY-FOUR) this women has practically conquered the world? It truly is an inspiring feat. One day I plan on emulating her achievements. I shall...one day. And that day is not today as I sit here writing this blogpost on my unbelievable comfy bed, with my pajamas on. Yeah, maybe tomorrow.

 2013 Grammy Awards
Designer: Valentino

2013 Academy Awards
Designer: Jenny Packman

2013 Golden Globes
Designer: Burberry

Fashion: WWAD. What Would Adele Do? In my opinion, Adele is consistent in delivering beautifully crafted designer dresses. It’s obvious that the designers and her are very aware of her curvy physic and dress her accordingly. This is proven by the way her dresses are never ill fitting, and always slide over her curves with such ease. The way she dresses perfectly conveys her style. I can easily see something on the runway, or in a store and say, “That’s Adele”. Her pieces habitually accentuate her waist, which is a must, and have a longer sleeve built into them. And they are without fail, beautiful. Obviously, she is also consistent with the color black. And people tend to criticize her for “not going outside of her comfort zone”. Give me a break! You can tell she’s comfortable with the color, so why criticize her for something she loves? It’s not like she’s stuck in a black rut she can’t escape, she put herself there because that’s what she wants. Shit, I wear black every single day, and I’m constantly “called out” and almost criticized because I don’t wear much of any other color. But that’s just who I am. No, I’m not depressed and just wearing black *cue eye roll*. I’m grinning and wearing black *cue smile*. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. However, when she does step out of her comfort zone (Grammy’s 2013, pictured above), the red carpet stunningly explodes.

Hair/MakeupSee pictures above for gorgeousness. Your mind might be blown from an overload of big, bouncy hair and perfectly winged eyeliner paired with siren red lips.

Sharp Curves: Adele’s weight seems to be a never ending criticizing party. It’s a party I refuse to join. Let’s get something straight internet bullies, enough talk about Adele being fat, or overweight. Adele is not fat, she is a radiant woman who isn’t afraid to be proud of her curves that her body possesses. Like seriously? Why is this “weight issue” continuously focused on? This harsh subject then shifts the discussion of her astounding success to the back burner. I’m not saying that people don’t amply talk about her in a positive light, because most of the time they do. People worship Adele for everything she is. But it just seems to me that the media always hovers in and accentuates the negative. But wait, negative. Negative is the wrong choice of word here. Adele’s weight is not negative. It’s refreshingly positive. Refreshingly normal. Dare I say it, normal. Adele’s weight is normal. So what if she’s curvy, skinny, or ever fat? She would be beautiful at any size.
